3D Brows is a method by which a sterile hand held manual tool and disposable needles is used to implant pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin to mimic natural hairs. It is also known as microblading, feathering, embroidery brows or brow tattoo. This a semi-permanent technique that can last from 1 to 3 years. It’s considered to be semi-permanent due to the depth of which the pigment is placed in comparison to the traditional PMU or tattoo machine. The results can vary from natural to defined brows unique to each individual based on facial structure and shape.

Upon arrival, clients must sign a release/liability form and update any necessary information. Clients are encouraged to bring eyebrow images. We will discuss what types of brow shapes, length, height and colour would be suite your facial feature/structure and skin tone. I will work with you to design a brow shape that highlights your natural facial features.

To achieve the most accurate proportions for each client, a golden calliper and several measuring tools are used with the golden ratio method. The start, middle and tail ends are marked with a waterproof pencil. Once the markings are connected, a general brow shape is formed. Adjustments are made to the brow until the desired brow shape is formed. Brow design is based on facial and bone structure.

The comfort of my clients is extremely important. To ensure maximum comfort during the procedure a topical anesthetic (5% lidocaine) is applied prior to the procedure. Numbing is done for 30 minutes. Additional anesthetic is applied throughout the procedure. During this time, a pigment colour is chosen based on the colour and undertone of the skin.

Using a sterile hand held tool and disposable needles, pigment is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin to mimic natural brow hairs within the designed shape. This process can take anywhere between 90 to 120 minutes.

You may experience the following after the procedure: slight redness (which can last a few days), swelling, itchiness and scabbing. The colour of your brows will appear darker and will continue to darken over the next 3-5 days. As your brows start to heal, scabs will form. It is extremely important that you do NOT pick at the scabs. The scabbing process is different for every client. Some may start to scab immediately and others will start to scab days later. The healing process can take anywhere up to 6-8 weeks although the top layer of skin will look fully healed after 2 weeks. During this time, your brows will lighten considerably. Hairstrokes may disappear. Not to worry, over the next several weeks, your skin will regenerate itself and pigment will reappear. Areas that may appear lighter or patchy will be enhanced during your second session. Results will vary per client as retention is dependant on skin type, lifestyle, environment and most importantly, long-term after care. Please carefully follow AFTERCARE instructions.
